Ingredients

all-purpose flour

tsp
baking soda
1
tsp
salt
1
c
butter-flavored shortening
1
c
brown sugar
1/2
c
white sugar
1
tsp
vanilla
2
eggs
12
oz
semisweet chocolate chips
(or M&M’s for more fun!)
food coloring
(your choice of colors)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375.
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt, then set aside.
In a mixer bowl, cream together shortening, brown sugar, and white sugar.
Add vanilla. Beat in eggs. Then slowly add in the flour mixture.
Add a few drops of food coloring of your choice. Mix dough until the coloring is mixed throughout and is the tint you’d like.
Stir in semisweet chocolate chips.
Drop in rounded balls onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 9-11 minutes. (Remove from sheet quickly if you’d like gooier cookies!)
