Baby Food Muffins

Now that Bird is finally done nursing, I’m excited to enter the stage where she gets to try new food! However, it’s always nice to have something on hand that I can give her to feed herself while I prep meals for Bean or myself (especially at lunch time).

I scoured the internet for different ways to turn pureed baby food into something she could pick up, and I basically ended up just looking for recipes that required pureed fruit or vegetables.

Many recipes were just too dry or required something I didn’t have on hand. Together, Bean and I put together this recipe which produced a delicious mini muffin even he and I enjoyed!

Our favorite flavor combination was the sweet potato, which I’ve included here, but we also liked the apple-blueberry combo, and a carrot-cinnamon one. You could really dump in almost any baby food combo you have available, though I wouldn’t use anything green or meat… 😉

Let me know what you try and like! These are perfect for tea parties where everyone can be involved!

  3. Combine together, mixing until just wet.
  4. Bake for 20 min, or until toothpick can be inserted and removed cleanly.
Recipe Notes

You really can do almost any combination of flavors with these muffins. We've tried apple/blueberry, carrot, and sweet potato so far and sweet potato was our favorite. Adding the cinnamon is a boon to any of the flavor combinations.
