Children’s Church: Joshua and the Walls of Jericho

We had so much fun this past Sunday teaching about Joshua and the walls of Jericho!

As usual, we started with a snack. We had Bugles, of course!

After watching the Jesus Storybook Bible episode, we got busy building our first wall made of paper. I drew an outline of a wall and gave the kids square pieces of construction paper and a glue stick to build however they wanted. They got really creative!

Next came the more hands-on part. First we made trumpets out of rolled construction paper (just taped down the side so it formed a cone). Then we built a wall from the blocks. We marched around the wall and then knocked it all down as we blew on the trumpets!

The kids had SO MUCH FUN! We built the wall and blew on the trumpets and knocked everything down over and over and OVER again!

I’m sure we were loud enough to be heard downstairs but those kids will never forget that lesson! 😉
