We’ve been busy decorating the house for my favorite season: FALL!
I could hardly wait to break out the fall decor, pumpkin spice (see our early fall cookies post!), sweaters, and pants. September is the beginning of fall to me, and I keep the decorations up till Christmas, which I decorate Thanksgiving Day because I can’t wait till December 1 anymore! I absolutely love living in a state where the leaves on the trees change color and there’s that enriching smell of cold in the morning. I can’t wait to start collecting leaves in big piles for the kids to run through, crunch through, and throw all over!
In the meantime, I have to settle with having a chance to paint outside while it’s still warm enough to get messy and rinse off with the hose. Doesn’t stop me from enjoying those red, yellow, and orange fall colors, though!
The other day we set up the easel with contact paper for painting (inspired by this blog) and I actually got the kids to use their fingers to get good and messy!
The next day, after the paint was really dry, I traced out leaf patterns, cut them out, and we stuck them on the window!
They turned out so beautifully!
What have you been doing to prepare for fall? I hope it includes a delicious, warm mug of something—pumpkin spice coffee for me!
