Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day!

Ok, I’m gonna say something that may surprise you but, hear me out: I think fathers have it harder than mothers these days. In our case, my loving husband works very hard so that I get to stay home with the kids. (Thank you so much!) But he wishes he could stay home all day with us to enjoy the pleasures of playing with his kids all day. He misses out on so many great moments and I know it breaks his heart to miss them.

I realize in today’s society the man doesn’t have to be the one to provide for the family, but that is our current situation. And I’m extremely, extremely appreciative of my husband working so hard so I can run the home from home.

So for Father’s Day we did quite a few fun things!

First, we baked double chocolate cherry cookies using a recipe found at this blog.

Oh. My. Gosh. Yum! It’s like a cherry cordial brownie cookie!

We had so much chocolate cherry drizzle left over (and you can see how much I doused on these cookies) that I had to run into the pantry and quickly grab anything else I could dip before the chocolate set.

We ended up with chocolate cherry dipped marshmallows…

And chocolate cherry drizzled pretzel sticks!

For gifts, I made via Shutterfly a beautiful mahogany box with pictures of each of the kids holding letters to spell out DAD. Plus I had Bean answer some questions about what he loved about his daddy, for example:

“How old is Daddy?” “3!”

“How big is Daddy? As big as…” “Red car!”

“What do you like to play most with Daddy?” “Cars and trucks and things that go!”

“What do you love most about Daddy?” “Cars and trucks and things that go!”

You can see a theme here… 😉

The point is, we love our daddy very much and so appreciate all he does for us. We try to tell him every day but it’s nice to have a day to celebrate and thank him fully!

Thank you!
